Computer issues update
OK, so I go into the Device Manager, and see yellow exclamation points next to both my CD drives!  Hooray - the computer at least sees them!

Properties / Device Status on either of them shows this:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware.  The driver may be corrupted or missing.  (Code 39)  Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

I go into the Troubleshooter.  It suggests I either update the driver, or try to have Windows do it for me by uninstalling and redetecting hardware.  I don't know where to find an updated driver, so I do the other thing.  Uninstall.  It's off the list.  Uninstall the other.  They're both off the list.  Detect new hardware.  Both are back on the list, complete with exclamation points.

I tell it to update the drivers.  It searches and can't find any that are a better match for the hardware than the software I currently have installed.

I tell it to Roll Back the Driver.  No backup driver exists.

So I present the LJ community with another conundrum:  What would you suggest I try here?  Do you know where I could download a (hopefully non-corrupted) generic CD-ROM driver for WinXP?
