DVD List
A few years back, when I first got into DVDs, I started keeping a list of what discs would be coming out in the near future, just for my own edification.  I've got a few reliable websites that I check regularly, so I could keep up to date with the latest announcements.  I kept the list in my PDA, and referred to it when I was curious what was coming out when.  At some point or other, someone asked me when something was coming out and I had the list handy, and they asked me to e-mail them a copy.

Since then, it's gradually become something of a full-on publication.  It's no longer just titles I'm interested in, but also titles that I think people on the list would be interested in, as well as titles that I just think sound funny.  I e-mail it out every 1-3 weeks (when I remember, or when a significant amount has changed) to my list, which currently has about 27 members.  I also sometimes send out notices of especially good deals I find for discs online or IRL, since those are sometimes random flukes that can disappear overnight.  I don't claim to be the end-all source of this kind of information - I've often had people point out titles that were on my list to be released on two or three separate dates - but I tend to be pretty good at keeping track of the interesting things and when you can expect to see them in stores.

I mention this as an option to anyone who cares.  If you'd like to start receiving these e-mails, let me know what e-address to use and I'll add you to the list.  I've just changed the method with which I keep that list - it'll no longer show everybody's e-address in the To: bar, so it's a little more secure.  And it's easier for me to maintain - I no longer have to recreate the list every time my Outlook crashes.  Which means I can open this up like this.  Hopefully it won't turn into something that's even more difficult to maintain.

If so, I'll bitch and moan here and you'll probably know about it....  =)

An opportunity??
You should make it a website (with ads)

Ugh
That'd count as being a lot more difficult to maintain. At least, until I figured out how to do it...

Something to ponder when I've got more time, I suppose...

No Opportunity
There are already plenty of websites that post DVD release dates, and they've all established themselves with the studios so that every time a new release is announced, they receive the press release allowing them to post a full report immediately. Pug-Ug creating a page that contains only titles he thinks people would be interested in, made up of information that was grabbed from other webpages, would not be something that would generate enough hits to interest advertisers.

Add This One To Your List

Click on "Resources" for a comprehensive list of upcoming releases. After you click that, "Weekly Bargains" on the left is also very helpful.

I'm interested.
I'd like to receive your list if you're still doing it. You always have a great sense of what's out there of interest.

My email address is .butler@gmail.com

I know you'll have no trouble remembering my first name. ;)

No problem
Just to clarify, the your first name goes before the .butler, right? Or is that instead of the period? (or is butler@ all there is to it?)
