How did this happen?
For the past couple of weeks, the queue at work has been fairly small but the pressure has been fairly high. Everything needed to be done NOW. I might have two sites in my personal queue, but those two sites would both need my immediate attention and be several-hour projects plus I had huge amounts of software testing to do.

Today, all of a sudden, the queue (total queue for everybody) jumped from three items to twenty five. And there's nothing to do. Every one of the sites in my queue (as well as Anthony's) is listed as "Ball in their Court" - we're waiting for them to call us back. The programmer's been in meetings all day and they're encouraging him to work on something other than this program so it can sit and rest for a little while, so there's nothing new to test. I'm sitting here in front of my computer essentially twiddling my thumbs.

I don't get it!!! I mean, don't get me wrong - the pressure is different. But it's still there. Only now, it's not pressure to help the customers - it's pressure to appear busy in front of my manager who's in the cubicle directly across from mine.
