Fun with magnets!
So there was a minor problem at work yesterday. See, we use as many of our products as we can in-house, so we know how they work, what they do, how to repair them, the problems that can occur, that kind of thing.

We found one.

We have a magnetic lock on our door. It's connected to a computer, which in turn is connected to keypads on the inside and outside of the door. You enter your code, the computer recognizes the code and clocks you in or out, the magnet releases, you can go through the door.

This is a single point of entry or exit. A few people have keys to the office, but they're all keys to this door. There is only one person who has keys to any other door.

Not much
I hung out a while and eventually went to get some breakfast at McDonald's. Various people arrived and we laughed at the situation. Eventually I called Randy who in turn called Dennis who then showed up and came in through the front door to let us in through a side door -- at which point we could both open the main door with the override button and reboot the troubled system. Problem solved. This time.

I'll get you next time, Gadget! Next tiiiiiiiiime!
