Did you know...  
...that the nice little feature in Word 2000 that allows you to Autosave every x number of minutes is a freakin' PLUG IN for Excel 2000? Further, not only do they get configured separately (counter to my notions of how MS programmed Office - maybe I got that from Office XP or something), but they get INSTALLED separately.


So Monday mornin' I'll have to redo that 45 minutes or so worth of work that disappeared when my system crashed. Hopefully I'll be able to get the install CD for that feature first...

Huh. Must suck to be a PC user...
All of Office X has an Auto-Save feature built into it...

Not at all. Just sucks to not be prepared.
Just checked. It's built into Excel XP. One can infer that it's in the rest of Office XP.

It's just a matter of installing the feature and using it, rather than assuming it's already installed and configured properly. I don't care what OS you're on - if you make that assumption then you're asking for things to go wrong.

Fair enough...
I remember back when you could tell that the program had the auto-save feature on because it would pause for a second, and you would hear the hard drive working...

Ah, the good old days... :)
