Slight (but not much) embellishment on a memory
I absently start singing one of the Smurf's songs. "La la la la la la la... la la la la la la la..." (Not the theme song. It's from one of their picture-albums from way back)

He looks at me with a look of "amateur."

"What? It's the Smurfs. It's not like I'm gonna remember the lyrics."

He kinda laughs but says nothing .

Less than five minutes later, he hands me a yellow piece of paper with the following handwritten on it.

If you come to smurfing land,
a smurf will take you by the hand;
take you through the town to see
how all the smurfs live happily

laughing, dancing, you'll feel good
sure to get you in the mood
if you want to sing a bit,
all join in this smurfing hit:

La la la la la la la
la la la la la la la
la la la la la la la
la la la la la la la...

Wow. I just unfolded that yellow piece of paper. It's dated - March 14, 2001. (It shows the teams of the Rotary Club of Ventura South's annual trivia challenge. Was very fun, but not as much as the year before, when our team was slightly different and simply kicked ass.

He?
I can only think of one person who would know the lyrics to that song that you regularly interact with. And yet you made no reference to who he is.
