Message from Verizon
“We’re sorry, but we are currently experiencing a voice mail outage in your area. We expect it to be resolved by February 8. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.”

In case anybody was trying to reach me on the land line. Which would otherwise be the best way right now, as I won't have my cell phone again until Sunday, and it's likely to need charging.

So I guess e-mail is best right now. Apparently I don't have voice mail at the moment.

Heh, at least you got a little heads up, we didn't even know we had a problem until I got an automated phone message today the 9th that said voicemail had been down since the 5th or 6th, and not only did people not have the ability to leave messages during most of that time but that some message that might have been left were lost. Gee thanks Verizon.

Accidental miscommunication.
I got no heads up. I noticed that the voice mail hadn't been picking up when I called to leave myself a message, and called them to find out what had happened. That was on their message before allowing me to talk to an operator.
