Update on stuff

I got into a PPR doc's office, and was working with him for the past few weeks.  All went smoothly once the paperwork got cleared up.  I'm waiting on my original doc's verdict -- his paperwork finally found its way to completion and to the preceptor's office, so there's a chance I'll get to work with him in the next rotation module.  I'm back at base-clinic at CSUN starting Monday, for the next six weeks.  Wheee?

Tuesday, I had three final exams.  If all goes well, those were the last three final exams I'll ever have to take for the rest of my life.  I've still got tests, and big nasty ones too, but I'm done with the structured classroom lecture-and-exam education.  Unless I choose to take a class just 'cause I want to.  That's a REALLY good feeling.

This morning I had my eyes checked by a LASIK doc.  I asked him some probing questions and was impressed with his answers.  I may end up doing this thing.  Which will be good for a couple of reasons - first, vision is cool, and he's pretty sure he can get mine to better than 20/20.  Second, $4000 of the $4900 bill has been approved for financing - which means somebody approved me for credit, and consistently paying on time will actually help me build my score back up a bit.  Which will be useful in about a year when I'm looking to get a small business loan.  The rest of the money will have to come from my student loan check - which is OK, 'cause we've been living month-to-month on Mom's loans and Jen's income anyway.  (This past term's loan check went almost entirely into the move)

I'm going to the County Fair tonight after all - it'll just be for an evening, but it should be enough.  The fair has always been about the time with friends and the Fair food to me anyway, so I'm just as happy not hitting a single ride.  Which is good, 'cause County Fair prices have never been cheap.

Irene Gold is taking up my weekends.  National Boards are September 7-9, so my freedom between now and then is very limited.  I look forward to having some time again after they're done.

That's about it for me.  What's going on with you?

I had my lasik done at Century City Eye Center by Dr. Gindi in 2001. He was really good. I just had my eyes checked and have 20/25. I wear glasses when driving and when shopping, but other then that I am fine. My sister and mother both had lasik and my sister needs glasses when driving and my mother needs them to read.
So it is not 100% but well worth the money!

Busy little bee. . .
Wow, you've really been keeping yourself active. Glad to hear all the classroom stuff is done. Such a nice feeling, eh?

How convenient would that have been?
