I heard one of the strangest things the other day....

I was in Baja Fresh ordering dinner to go, and I heard a song I thought I recognized. Couldn't have been, though....this was in Spanish.

Took me a bit of listening, but I figured it out. Turns out I HAD heard it. But in English. And sung by a woman. With Irish instrumentation, not Spanish.

It was "Little Wing" by the Corrs. Sung by a man in spanish with appropriate instrumentation. Very strange...

Stranger still...
The Corrs were covering Jimi Hendrix when they recorded that.

Huh. Didn't know that.

I guess that makes the male spanish singer make a little more sense...

...but not much.

I'm really loving the Corrs' album...I bought 3 in one swoop, and 2 have become my constant choices lately. I don't care for the one (something about corners) that has a lot of dance mixes on it, but I love Forgiven, Not Forgotten, and Live in Dublin. The cover of Ruby Tuesday is great.

Any album I haven't mentioned you reccommend?

Corrs, Corrs, and more Corrs
The one you aren't that fond of is "Talk on Corners: Special Edition."

Time for you to go out and buy "Talk on Corners" WITHOUT the "Special Edition". The Special Edition is all dance mixes of songs that sound like they came in between "Forgiven, Not Forgotten" and "In Blue" (which you also need to pick up, although the more recent you go, the less Irish and the more Rock they get. If you're gonna get this, I do recommend seeking out the Special Edition of it, which comes with a second CD). The "Unplugged" album is an import, but it's worth getting too. Chronologically, I think it came out just before "In Blue." :0)

But then, I'm a huge fan of the band and recommend pretty much everything they do. The fact that you liked "Forgiven, Not Forgotten" (their first album) and "Live in Dublin" (their most recent release) means you'll probably be like me and enjoy everything in between.

They've got a couple of videos and DVDs as well...

If you want a complete discography, this is probably a good place to find it. :-) (Or you could just run a search in Amazon for them and see how many things pop up... :-) )
