Last night, I discovered that a school project's file on my computer was old.  Like, the version I have saved seems to be from before I did any substantive work on the thing.

I turned in a hard copy and e-mailed an electronic copy to my teacher over the weekend.  So of course the first thing I did upon discovering the problem on my computer was check my Outbox.  Sure enough, it's also of the old version.

So I've been panicking since last night about it.  I had no idea if I'd printed out a finished product, or if I'd turned in a hard copy of what was essentially the outline he had provided us on how to do the project.  Needless to say, I sent him an e-mail or two, asking him what I'd done, and if it was the worst, what I could do about it.

Just got a reply - turns out I'd turned in the actual finished project.  This'll come back to bite me next term when one of the assignments is to revise this specific project, but for now, it's turned in.

Breathing easier now.....

could you ask your professor to send a copy of the finished version back to you so you'll have it?

Yes and no
He probably wouldn't, but mostly because it won't matter. I'll be getting a copy (or the original) back next term when it's time for me to revise it.
