Now that the background's done...
USC Reverse Osmosis has been given an opportunity to be the first a cappella group ever to represent USC at the ICCA Finals in New York -- but they have a minor financial issue.  Getting there will cost about $15,000, and Varsity Vocals is only contributing $1,500 to their travel effort.  If anybody knows of any individual or group that might be willing to sponsor the trip, please let me (or them) know!

If you want to contribute individually, they're taking donations via PayPal on their website.  Also, any profits from people buying stuff from them between now and the Finals will go to the travel fund.

For more info, you can read an article in the Daily Trojan here.  Or you can, you know, ask them.  =)

EDIT:
Oops - I almost forgot that RO is having a fundraising party at the RO House tonight. Admission is $5, and they'll be singin'. If you care enough to want to go, contact them for directions to their place (and be aware of how many streets sound like theirs in the neighborhood - there's a Rd, a St, a Dr, an Ave.....). I'd love to give more info, but since this is where several of the members live, it's really not my place to give out their address.

Very cool!
I'm jealous. I keep being near singing groups that sing in NYC, and/or in Carnegie Hall. My mom's chorus sang there when I was younger. Just gotta keep living vicariously, I guess. *g*

Thanks, and best of luck to your school's choir! =)
