I've got a computer that's about ready for a reformat and OS reinstall, and I was wondering what your opinions might be of Win7.  The system is used pretty much solely for these purposes:

• Media playing (MP3s via iTunes, divx files, occasional quicktime movies)
• Web browsing (nothing fancy, mostly imdb and e-mail)
• Occasional DVD burning (.ISO files provided by a different computer that does all the processing beforehand)
• Networked file transfers with a Vista system (can be gotten around with SD cards or AOL IM, but both of those options are annoying)

I don't need much power for the traditional things (gaming, etc), just the basics.  Can Windows 7 do those things pretty effectively?
